I graduated from
California State University, Fresno with a degree in Business with an emphasis in
Accounting. I worked in accounting for over seven years in private industry. My accounting experience
progressed from an Accounting Supervisor for a helicopter manufacturing company, a Division Controller for a
carpet manufacturing company, and finally as the CFO for a computer company.
Two partners and I started a software company,
which was going really well until one of the partners suddenly passed away. Unfortunately, we had to shut
the company down. Fortunately, it was a learning experience to not go into a business where there was not a
support system.
So, in 1981, I entered the franchise world, I
purchased Dunhill Personnel, an executive recruiting franchise – better known as
headhunters. I stayed in the executive recruiting business for 15 years; until 1996. Then, I co-founded Centurion
Solutions, another software business.
At Centurion Solutions, we developed software for law enforcement, fire and
emergency medical service agencies. We sold the company at the end of 2002.
In early 2003, looking for my next adventure, I
thought I might become a business broker.
- I had acquired a unique background with
experience in accounting, information technology, sales & marketing, independent business ownership and
franchising. As such, many people that I knew asked me to help them go into business for
themselves.
- When I was a headhunter, many people would
tell me that they hated their jobs.
Others would lose their jobs, and were either faced with taking jobs with
much less responsibility, lower pay, or uprooting their family to relocate. I heard these people say
over-and-over that they would go into business for themselves – if they only knew what business to go into,
or if they only had the experience to run a business.
So, I ran out and got my real estate license and
began looking into becoming a business broker. What I found was that most of
the businesses I saw business brokers selling were businesses that had real problems; which was one of the
primary reasons they were being sold.
If someone were to buy these businesses, then they would be buying those same
problems. Now
there are good businesses that are sold by business brokers, but generally they are too expensive for the first
time business owner. But assuming that someone could afford one of these businesses, then the next question is
whether their personal, business and financial goals would be a match for the businesses that I had for
sale. I
didn’t want to be responsible for someone spending a huge sum of money and finding themselves hating to get out
of bed in the morning, because I had sold them the wrong business.
In early 2003, I found franchise consulting,
where I would advise people that were looking to buy a business and help them make informed buying
decisions. As
a business broker, I needed to sell businesses to make money, and I had to sell the businesses that I had –
whether they were a fit or not.
As a franchise consultant, I do not sell franchises. I spend my time helping
people find the best franchise opportunity for them.
I start by developing an assessment of your
business, personal and financial goals and requirements. Then, I find franchises that
fit you, and not find a franchise and have you try to fit into it. Most times, I find you
franchises that people would never find on their own or franchises that they never would have considered if they
did find them. Best of all, I do this at no cost to my client, they are under no obligation, and they can
stop the process at any time.

Axxiom Franchise Advisors, LLC helps people make the right decision when buying a business. My experience tells me that most
people should buy a franchise if they are looking to go into business for themselves. The franchise company
has proven that the model works by duplicating it many times throughout the nation. They have developed the
systems and the training to make their franchisees successful. The key is determining which franchise is
right for our clients. This is accomplished by a detailed assessment that profiles the lifestyle needs,
business goals and financial requirements of out clients; then presenting franchise opportunities that match
the profile.
Axxiom Franchise Advisors, LLC is always looking for qualified individuals that are looking for
a rewarding career where you can help people achieve the “American Dream”. If you would like to find out more about becoming an Axxiom Advisor;
